Back in the day..."the 2 girls"

In 1974 Marianne and Jan realized their dream of owning a farmhouse in Canada, close to Lake Ontario.

They named it "The Darsser Hill Farm", because it reminded them of  their heimat in Germany, The Dars region.

Their farming skills were an evolution, beginning with tomatoes, moving on to raising pigs and finally settling on beef cows. It was at this time that Angelika, came to Canada for the first time to visit her Aunt (Marianne) and got to know the property and all of the things that were happening there. At the age of 14, Angelika loved to be with the animals on the land, and the never ending stream of guests coming into the house.

Over the years the house went through many transitions of being renovated, changed,repaired and added on to..as you can see from todays results, the house was well loved and became a place of sharing and gathering. "The two girls", always had time for a beverage and a chat and the open door policy, was the way they lead their lives. So, today it only seems fitting that the property should lend itself as a vacation rental which attracts family's, wedding parties, small business retreats and guests from all over the world.

Just like Marianne and Jan's time, the house brings people looking to relax, from the stresses of every day, to get away from the hectic of the city life,  take time to relax, get comfortable and enjoy the lovely surroundings of Prince Edward County.
